What is SAP Business One?

SAP Business One is a standard, off-the-shelf, “ERP” software package, which brings together your accounting and finance, purchasing, manufacturing, sales, and service operations, providing you with visibility and control of every aspect of your business – using a single integrated solution.

We are small but a growing company, is SAP Business One scalable?

There are no technical limits placed on the size a customer must be to implement and use SAP Business One. Normally it is the operational functionality required by the organisation, which will determine the suitability of SAP Business One as a solution. The underlying database which SAP Business One utilitises is Microsoft SQL Server, a scalable and very robust database solution. A key feature of SAP Business One is it degree of flexibility that enables SAP B1 to meet the changing demands of a growing business, without the requirement for bespoke programming.

Will SAP Business One continue to be supported in the future

Historically SAP have invested heavily in Business One, and continues to do so. Currently there are over 30,000 implementations of SAP Business One worldwide, which is increasing at a rate of 30-35% a year. This makes SAP Business One key to SAP’s future business strategy. SAP publishes a road-map in the public domain which describes their product development plans for SAP Business One for several years ahead. Can I access the SAP Business One system from mobile devices?

Yes, there are a variety of applications (apps) available for the iPhone and the iPad, as well as Android and Windows mobile phones and tablets. These have been developed specifically for SAP Business One, allowing you to interact with your system even if you’re out of the office.

What hardware does SAP Business One need to run?

SAP Business One can be used with any standard desktop PC or laptop, as long as it is running on a Windows platform – either XP, Vista or Windows 7. The desktop will need to be connected to a central server by a local area network or a wide area network (such as internet/VPN). SAP Business One is sold on a named user basis. The total price of the system will depend on how many users you require and the type of licences needed by each of those users (and we will help you work it out!).
